THE ADMIRAL BENBOW INN
The storied West Seattle diner, a beloved landmark with its unforgettable pirate ship-shaped dive bar and mesmerizing fishpond embedded in the floor, first welcomed patrons in 1950. It sailed through decades of memories before shuttering in 2002, following the passing of its cherished owner, Neysa Longmire, leaving a void in the heart of the community.
“Raise your glass in teary R.I.P. for West Seattle’s Admiral Benbow Inn, the only bar in town where you could enjoy a bourbon and Coke in the coziness of its bowels-of-a-pirate-ship surroundings”. Wrote Melanie Mcfarland in the Seattle Times in 2002. “Arggh!”
Now, after two decades lost to the briny deep, the legendary Benbow Inn & Chart Room has emerged from the shadows of Davy Jones’ Locker, reborn as The Admiral Benbow Room. With its iconic pirate ship bar fully restored and brimming with swashbuckling charm, this revitalized haven is ready to serve up adventure, nostalgia, and good times. So hoist the sails, grab a drink, and join us on deck to make waves in true pirate fashion!
